| 16 May 1884 There is a report of the crime in the Birmingham Daily Post Friday 16 May 1884 p.3 col.7: WOLVERHAMPTON. A JUVENILE THIEF. - George Holmes (12), Charles Street, Stafford Street, at the Police Court, yesterday, wag charged with stealing a showcard and two purses from the shop of Mr Chester, Chapel Ash. Prisoner got two boys younger than himself to commit the robbery, and when they ran away they dropped the purses and prisoner picked them up. - He was sentenced to a month's imprisonment, and five years' detention in a reformatory. | |
