11 August 1883 There is a brief report of the crime in the Staffordshire Advertiser Saturday 11 August 1883 p.3 col.4: William Clay, charged with having been on premises for an unlawful purpose at Tunstall. was committed to gaol for one month and ordered to be sent to a reformatory for five years.
