| 31 August 1901 A previous offence was reported in the Birmingham Mail Saturday 31 August 1901 p.2 col.4: A BAD CHARACTER. Frank Joseph Walford (15), 110, Dolobran Road, Sparkbrook, against whom a charge of stealing 5s. 4d. from a penny-in-the-slot meter was preferred, was given a bad character by his mother. He would not work, she said, and had stolen money from his brothers several times, but had been forgiven. He broke the meter, took the money out, and told Inspector Moxon that he had spent it in "rock." He said he was sorry, and the magistrates adjourned the case for three months to see how he behaved himself. | |
