| 7 February 1901 The crime that sent him to Saltley was reported in the Coventry Evening Telegraph Thursday 7 February 1901 p.3 col.7: THEFT. Thomas Dagley, William Rollason. George Taylor, schoolboys, and James Taylor and Fred S. Jeffcoate, brickyard hands, were summoned for stealing a box of chocolates and a bottle of sweets, value 3s. 11d., the property of Henry Arnold, Arbury Road, Nuneaton, on the 31st ult. The cases against Dagley, and George Taylor were dismissed, and James Taylor was bound over. Jeffcoate was sent to a reformatory for three years. Rollason's case was adjourned, this boy being ill. | |
