| 10 June 1903 A report in the Register of Boys on Licence dated September shows that Oldham has enlisted [his unit is not named, but as the Reformatory Committee Log Book report of this date records his location as Warwick, it was possibly the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Usually, when boys were allowed to enlist before the end of their sentence, permission would be sought from the Home Office to officially discharge them.
