30 July 1898 A previous offence was reported in the Leicester Chronicle Saturday 30 July 1898 p.6 col.3: SLEEPING OUT. - Harry Cave, shoehand (13), Mansfield-street, was summoned for sleeping in a garden in front of 64, Rutland-street, at 12.50 a.m., on July 25. - The Mayor advised the father of the boy to try and get him some work, and discharged the youth.
