| 2 November 1889 The crime was briefly reported in the Sheffield Independent Friday 1 November 1889 p.5 col.2: STEALING CIGARS. - Two boys, named Henry Kirby and John Matthewman, of Sales yard, who had been remanded in custody on a charge of stealing cigars, the property of Thomas Houghton, Masbro' Street, on October 18th, were sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment and five years' detention in a reformatory. | |
