Leslie is listed as being killed in action on 27 May 1915 and this is confirmed by the 1st/4th (243rd) Brigade war diary and the entry for that day is transcribed below.

Ploegsteert - 27.5.15: 5th Battery fired in conjuction with aeroplane. Germans shelled 5th Battery billets. Gunner Dunbar killed.
