Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
Between 11th and 13th September 1918 the battalion were in the lines at Havrincourt Wood.
Frederick was killed on the 13th and the war diary for that day reads
"D Coy were relieved by B Coy in City Support Trench. A & C Coy mopped up for 187 Brigade & went into Kimber Trench & Cheyne Trench. Heavily shelled. Casualties - Killed 1 officer and 9 O.R. Wounded 1 officer & 44 O.R."
