The cause of death for Thomas is not known, his squadron was stationed at Rubenpre at the time of his death.A message posted in the Stratford Herald on 10 Jan 1919 says "a year has passed since our dear brother S S 50564 Thomas Stock passed away very peacefully in France on 24 Dec 1917"
