Circumstances of Death

Edwin was admitted to the King George V Hospital in Dublin on 12 June 1918 and was treated for Influenza and Pneumonia. On 17 June 1918 Edwin was transferred to the Cork Street Fever Hospital, Dublin after developing a full body rash (measles). His condition worsened and on 30 June 1918 he developed Pleurisy in the lungs. He died the following day of Influenza (1 month) and Measles (19 days) and he was buried at the nearby Grangegorman Military Cemetery.
