Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
William is listed as being killed in action on 16 Jun 1918. The very brief Company war diary entry states that they were engaged in Wiring between map points 62d.W.25.c.8.3 and 62d.W.25.c.4.93. It also states that one "other rank" was killed in action on the day.The map points are south of the River Somme between the NE of Cayeux-en-Santerre and NW of Caix.
